Dear members of #
MountainShots,
Here are some points that you have to read if you want your pictures to have a good chance of being accepted

SUBJECTThe most important rule is that mountain
HAS to be the
main subject on your picture.

We must see
summits, or slopes that are
obviously from mountains, on your picture.
(1) Before you submit your work in our group, please take a second to ask yourself:
”If I hadn't taken this picture, could I say it takes place in mountains, could I be 100% sure of it?” If the answer is no, then your picture will surely be declined.
(2)
Cliffs (beside the sea) will not be accepted in the group. In the same way, waterscape pictures will be accepted only if it's about a mountain lake or if there are mountains clearly visible on the shot and which are the main subject on the picture (more important place than the sea).
(3)
Close-ups and macros will not be accepted in the group. We're a landscapes photography group and there're many other group where you can submit this kind of pictures (: So pictures of mountain flowers will surely be declined, excepted when we can clearly see a mountain background behind (not too blurry/out of focus).
(4)One of us has had an interesting comparison to explain this rule:
Ask you to imagine that our club was called "Motorbike Shots", the essence of the club being to feature shots of motorbikes, but someone put in a photograph of a can of oil. Would we allow it because you can find oil in a motorbike - the answer would be NO, surely?
The group's description says “Mountain
and hill photography”. So your picture doesn't have to be taken in high mountain of to feature some
pointed summits. However, if there's only a curved ground with a very small difference in height, the picture will not be accepted.
(5)

QUALITY and COMPOSITION
We will not accept the pictures which are:
. Noisy
. Blurry
. Out of focus
(Excepted if it's part of the composition and done in purpose, we'll see case by case)We will not stand a
draconian selection with your submissions, don't worry. But if you try to respect the previous basic criteria when taking a picture, it will help you to improve your work! (:

Take care over the composition of your picture! We do not ask for the best of the best photos, we want to stay a friendly group open to all, but please avoid pictures taken from a moving car where we can see a blurry guardrail and a bit of road, for example.
(1) Example: On this shot

there is no summit visible, but it is obviously taken in mountains. This slope though

would be refused.
(2) Examples of what will be declined because it could have been taken in other places than mountain:
(3) Example: These pictures :thumb203159682:&

will be rejected whereas these pictures

will be accepted.
(4) Example of what would be declined: :thumb22727976: , what would be the limit (accepted case by case - here accepted)

and what would be accepted
