do you ever...

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 16, 2013, 4:46 PM
... go through old things you wrote years ago at 1am?
uh. that's what i'm currently doing. i love this mood i'm in sometimes, at night. the house's perfectly quiet, i'm the only one awake, and i feel.. peaceful. i've been working on a report i have to write for uni until half an hour ago. i often work better at night. then i've opened dA and dunno why, i went through old journal entries i posted years ago. there's the first one, quite fun, where the frenchie me is a bit afraid of all the english word on this site i was discovering. there's one where i was listening to

[link]

and gosh, i forgot how i love this song. i'm listening to it again and again for 20min, with headphones on my ears, sound reverberating in my head. there's one where i answered a tag, and i'm gonna answer it again now:

- 5 tv shows you have been watching or are currently watching -
pretty little liars / ncis / x factor / the voice / ellen
- put your ipod on shuffle and name the first 5 songs (don't cheat!). if you don't have an ipod, just randomly name the first 5 songs you see in your playlist -
shoot the moon - norah jones / side - travis / ruled by secrecy - muse / waltz #13 in D flat, op70/3 - chopin / mk ultra - muse
- last 2 movies you have seen -
project x / and i can't even remember 'cause it's been so long
- the book you are reading now (if you are not reading any write down the last one) -
i'm reading "la révolution des fourmis" by bernard werber
- a game you have been playing recently (pc, play station, wii, whatever) -
just dance 4, wii
- your favorite way of being entertained -
watching some stupid things on tv or playing the piano or looking at inspirational pictures. in fact i have no idea

and i now feel suddenly exhausted. 1:36am, my teddy is waiting for me on my pillow. he has this hole in his chest that i have to sew up for months. funny how it appeared at the same time than mine, now that i think about it.

it had been so long since the last time i wrote in a dA journal. i'm not sure someone is actually gonna read this and to be honest it doesn't really matter haha. my thoughts go to the lovely people i've met on here through the years. they'll know who they are. and to any other who accept my free hug..!

have a nice sunday
xoxo

J'ai lu ! :D, tu as pu recoudre ton nounours ? Je suis plutôt de la nuit également ! L'inspiration vient plus souvent la nuit !

Hey ... I have enjoyed reading this Journal and listening to that beautiful song again.

The night has always inspired me. It is magical, peaceful and mysterious. It gives a sense of intimacy that the chaos of daytime can never bring.

And, yes, I often find myself reading or watching or listening to something that I created a long time ago. It is strange, but soothing at the same time.

Some times... I think it's a great feeling being awake in the dark. I've done a lot of my writing in the early hours, lying awake then suddenly a thought or a rhyme suddenly comes into that dark space in my brain, then they come more and more and I can't find sleep because I have so many ideas. Have you ever gone walking on a summer night and noticed how alive you feel, maybe because it's not how we are supposed to do things normally, but at least for me being awake at weird times and doing things like that are a little joy in life. Finding old songs you used to love is another little treasure that doesn’t happen as often as I’d like, but when it does, it’s such a pleasure to listen to those lyrics you used to know so well, but somehow forgot with the passing of time. Yeah… I think a lot of little pieces of happiness lie in the quiet darkness. So in short, yeah... I guess I do. :)

Yes, I totally understand this. It's so easier to me to write at night too. As if my mind goes suddenly free and connect itself to my hands. Walking on a summer night? I have, and have felt everything you're describing. I feel so alive and aware of my body, thoughts, of everything around me even if I cannot see them in the dark. Last time it happened to me, I was facing the Atlantic Ocean at night, after shooting long exposure shots. Everything was so perfect, and I felt wild free.

Yes, it's like any restraints and reservations you might have had in the waking hours suddenly with the daylight. You can hear your mind better, feel your soul a little stronger. It's almost a magical feeling I think, something that connects us back to the earth or something like that. That must have been a magnificent experience, I can only dream of walking on the sea shore at night someday.
